Anyone who knows me well knows that I grew up on the sitcom The Golden Girls and I pride myself on the ability to quote just about any episode at the drop of the hat. I remember, as a small girl, binge-watching the reruns (that were actually reruns) with my mom and giggling at the sometimes less-than age appropriate humor but I loved every minute of it. It is one of those memories that I won’t let anyone take away from me.
Anyway, I went to the library this week in hopes to read a biography of some sort and I stumbled upon Betty White’s “If you ask me (and of course you won’t).” I’ve always adored this woman for her humor and lady-like mannerisms but it wasn’t until I finished this book that I realized I loved her even more.
Betty talked about her love for animals, the same way I do, and kept me laughing with her whit and honesty chapter after chapter. In all it only took me about 6 hours to finish the book and if you’re looking for something light-hearted and fun, I heartily suggest you go by and rent yourself a copy.
Today I’ve started a book called, “Sun Moon Earth” by Tyler Nordgren, its goes through the history of solar eclipses and what they symbolized in the ancient world. This book is way out of my comfort zone but so far, I am in love. The language he uses to talk about his love for astronomy is something to marvel at.
I really love reading about other people’s loves for different things, it inspires positivity and makes me feel connected with people I don’t even know.
Good luck to all my friends headed back to school this fall, I hope all of your classes and lives run smoothly.
-Thanks for reading,
